| Rotary Day at the UN |
11.07.2009 |
| |
 |
 |
General
Bill Miller,
PDG from Frankfort, KY and RI Alternate Representative to the UN, would
like to invite you to the 2009 Rotary Day at the UN. Rotary and the
United Nations have a long history of working together and sharing
similar visions for a more peaceful world.
Each
year at Rotary UN Day, more than 1600 Rotarians including many Rotary
International Directors, Foundation Trustees, past Senior Leaders, and guests
come together at UN Headquarters in New
York. The
program is designed to inspire and educate all participants as well as provide
insight into the relationship between Rotary and the United Nations. In the past, the day has been very successful
and has sold out.
Speakers
will include the Secretary General of the United Nations, the
President of Rotary International, John
Kenny from Scotland, the
Chairman of the Rotary Foundation, Glen Estes PRIP from USA, and the
President-elect of Rotary International, Ray Klingensmith from USA.
There will also be panel discussions on Health, Water, Hunger and
Literacy.

Getting
and keeping members and supporting The Rotary Foundation are two key
elements for effective Rotary Clubs. Because I know how vital these
areas are to your club, I have scheduled a series of Membership and
Foundation seminars around the District.
These seminars are open to all Rotarians, but please be sure to especially encourage your club's Membership chairperson and Foundation
chairperson to attend. The seminars
on Membership and the Foundation will run concurrently, so it is
imperative that two members of your club attend to maximize the
benefit. All seminars will be held from 6:00 - 7:30 pm local
time.
